During our 2020-21 Fiscal Year, we disbursed $1.5 million in COVID-19 support through the Regional Relief and Recovery Fund (RRRF) and the Non-Repayable Support Program (NRSP). The RRRF offered interest-free loans of up to $60,000, while the NRSP covered up to $2,000 for third-party business support services.
“We launched the RRRF at a time when the uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic was sky-high. We knew that Community Futures Development Corporations were in a unique position to help deliver this fund using their local expertise. Now, we are seeing the targeted results of that support, thanks to CFDCs supporting rural businesses and entrepreneurs during these challenging times.” — The Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Economic Development and Official Languages and Minister responsible for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario)
After investment by the Government of Canada through its Budget 2021, we supported Middlesex County entrepreneurs and business owners with an additional $200,000 in relief and recovery funding. On behalf of FedDev Ontario, we have disbursed a total of $1.7 million to assist local businesses with the economic impacts of COVID-19.
“We were honoured to serve as a delivery partner of financial support to small businesses in Middlesex County. It aligns with our mission to assist entrepreneurs and business owners in any way possible, especially during difficult times.” — Todd Copeland, General Manager of Community Futures Middlesex
As a result, our disbursement of COVID-19 relief and recovery funding has concluded. With the economy gradually reopening in Ontario, we will continue to support Middlesex County entrepreneurs and businesses.
